Just a little update...
Wes and I are going to one of my favorite places on Earth this Thursday...Charleston! We're going to see DBT at the Music Farm. I haven't been to the Music Farm since '98, where I first met Austin and G Love. That was a great weekend.
I've also been playing music with a couple of guys I met about a month ago. One is an amazing guitarist, and the other is a pretty good songwriting bass player/singer. I've learned a couple of their original songs and we've jammed on some cover songs as well(The Beatles, Stones, CCR, just to name a few). They're wanting to start up a band so that we could possibly play out at some bars or whatnot. I learned this past Friday that Gottrocks(hippie bar on Hwy 291) is going to have open mic on Thursdays. I figured it might be a good place to practice in front of a crowd, a drunk/stoned out crowd. We also have to wait on my brother(drummer) to heal up from his back surgery that he had 2 weeks ago. I'm not concerned with getting paid to play at the moment but playing for free beer would be the bomb!

What we should do is gather up everyone we know and take over that bar the night you guys play. It would be the best gig ever... those hippies would think you guys were superstars.
I've been getting into the DBT a bit. Wes gave me a copy of Pizza Deliverance the last time I was home that I've been jamming to. I read last night somewhere that they are opening for Dave Matthews this summer.

You're damn right Austin! I'm gonna make sure EVERYONE knows that I'm playing. Hell, we might rock that place so much that they probably wouldn't let us back in. Or they might pay us to come back? If they did pay us, the money would probably go to more gear.
