*Some asshat was yelling out "She's a jar" in the last verse of Mountian Bed(quiet acoustic Woody Guthrie song). After the song was over Tweedy ripped him a new one. After the first encore, Tweedy went into a story saying he was sorry but not really. He also said it reminded him of his dad, b/c they would be playing a song and his dad would tell them to play "She's a jar". Jeff really had the crowd laughing.
The guys on http://viachicago.org/main.html (forum) were all pissed about this guy. Well, if I'd been down around where he was sitting or had been Jeff Tweedy, I'd probably been pissed too. However, I think this guy really got the band and crowd pumped up. The crowd roared when Tweedy gave the "fuck you" to this guy. I'm not sure if it was the same guy or not, but in ALTWYS, the part that goes "come back home", some drunk guy kept yelling "come back home!" Everyone started shooshing him. When the song came to the "leave me alone" part, Jeff looked in that general direction and sang it loud and really meant it. The crowd went nuts. The crowd interaction made some great moments. All in all it was a weird crowd.
I have to comment on the venue too. Although I have been there(9yrs. ago) the outside hasn't changed that much. The inside on the other hand, funky rainbow colored lights that surrounded the whole place and changed colors constantly. They were a steady blue once we entered, then dimmed for the concert, until the 2nd encore when Jeff wanted them turned on. He said something along the lines of, "more venues need light shows for the band" or something like that. The sound of the place was great too. Everything was set just right.

Sorry you missed it Austin. I liked this show better than the Asheville show.

Man I'm so sad I didn't get to go.
Especially since they played Mountain Bed. That is one my all time favorite songs. And Candyfloss too! Shit I've never seen them do that before.
Tweedy has a reputation for getting pissed at annoying people. I read once on Viachicago about some concert where this guy kept coming right up to the front of the stage and taking flash photos. Tweedy asked him to stop because his flash was really bright, yada yada yada...
The clown came up again and tried it... Tweedy kicked is ass in the head.
What was Political Schience?
