Happy Holidays!

Just wanting to wish everyone a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

I hope everyone gets what they want and more. I don't have much planned for Xmas, except spending time with family and my baby. I'm looking forward to seeing Southern Culture on the Skids at The Handle-Bar on New Years Eve. It should be a blast. Oh, and be careful out this holiday season too. Later,

jt

Everybody knows that Time should have gave it to Karl Rove.

The Power of Stereo!

Today I received my Lehle dual switcher that I won off of ebay. Basically, it's a footswitch that can split a guitar signal going into two different amps. Thus, I can play thru one or the other amp, OR I can play thru both amps, IN STEREO! More details about the pedal here:

http://www.lehle.com/frameset.php?country=us&lang=en&A_Link=products

Anyways, I fooled around with it some before I came into work and I must say that it kicks major ass. My two amps are a Fender Bassman 4x10 and an Orange AD30 twin channel with 2x12s. The Fender has that classic "clean tone" but it does have a fair amount of bass, thus being called the "Bassman". The Orange has the classic "British tone" i.e. Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, killer lead tones. This pedal does not suck the tone at all, no humming, just pure ROCK!!

I had the volume for both amps set at 3 o'clock and man that shit was loud! In a good way. The tone was so full I couldn't believe it, and it was totally shaking the floors. NOTE: I live in a townhome, so I'm sure the neighbors were loving it. I could really do some damage with those things.

I only played my Strat straight thru to them. I'm looking forward to setting up all my pedals and even driving my SG thru them as well.

Arena rock at its finest.

NYC

Lynn and I have decided to take a trip to the city that never sleeps. I'm really looking forward to this since I've never been. We'll be staying for 4 nights and 5 days. We've got our plane tickets and we will be staying here http://www.newyorkerhotel.com/

I know for sure I want to visit Strawberry Fields in Central Park and The Dakotas to pay tribute to John Lennon. I also want to visit the CBGB http://www.cbgb.com/ We'll probably try to catch a Broadway show, and hopefully a Conan O' Brien show as well.

Other than that, I'm not sure what else we're going to do. If any of you guys have suggestions on some must see sites in the big apple, please let me know.

RIP Dimebag Darrell

I just found out that the guitarist from Pantera, Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed while playing a show in Columbus, OH. Read more here:

http://www.nbc4i.com/news/3983630/detail.html

This really sucks. I'm not a huge Pantera fan, but I loved their first few albums. Dimebag was the ultimate heavy metal guitarist. He will be missed. My thoughts go out to the family, friends, and the hardcore fans.

RIP

Overtime!

I had the pleasure of finding out that I get to stay an extra 5 hours at work today. The worst part is that it's a training class. For those who do not know, I work the graveyard shift. So what this means is, that after I have worked my normal 10hr. shift, I have to sit through some boring training class and listen to stuff that I'm probably never gonna use in my life.

Normally when the clock hits 6am, I'm trying my best to keep my eyes open. So I can only imagine when the clock hits 1pm(when the class is over) what I'm going to be feeling like.

I have to keep saying to myself: Do it for the money

There's nothing like a 15hr. work day, uhh I mean night or morning or whatever.

On the plus side, my cousin, the human speedbump, will be in town. Maybe I can talk him into buying me lunch and a few beers.

It was ten years ago today...

That one of the greatest albums of all time came out. What album you say? Vitalogy by Pearl Jam. Need I say more? Of course!!!

First of all, I was a senior in high school. Young and stupid, but good taste in music. There was a lot of good music out during this time period, I miss those days. This album was dark, and it fit my mood during this time perfect, kinda like Wilco's A Ghost is Born does to me now. Now we're subjected to the likes of Britney, Ashlee, the Duffmeister, all this fake-ass punk shit, and adult contemparary(Nashville produced country music). Where's the ROCK????!!!!!!!!

Second, my favorite song of all time is on this album, Corduroy. Hmmm, sounds familiar. I can still remember the first time hearing this song. I've only felt that way about a song very few times. The lyrics are amazing on this album too. My favorite verse ever in a song is on this album. Satan's Bed. Lyrics go like this:

"Who made, who made up, made up the myth that we were born to be covered in bliss?Who set the standard? Born to be rich.Such fine examples, skinny little bitch.Model, role model. Roll some models in blood.Get some flesh to stick so they look like us.I shit and I stink. I'm real join the club.I'd stop and talk but I'm already in love." EV

Great stuff.

Third, the CD/LP packaging. Absoultely amazing. All CD's at this time came in their typical plastic cases with their little lyric booklets, but not Vitalogy. A book in itself. Well, it was based on a real book so that would make sense.

I can also recall Pearl Jam being nominated for two Grammys in '95. First nomination was for "Best Hard Rock Song of the Year", Spin the black circle. Of course it won and Ed's acceptance speech was very, uh, unacceptable in the terms of the Academy. FUCK THE MAN!!! That's right!. As for the second nomination, "Album of the Year", I figured they wouldn't win(lost to Alanis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill), but I didn't care. They had already won with critics and most importantly, me.

I think I'll give it a spin as soon as I get off work. Later,

jt

Alright, I emailed some invitations...

So lets see how many of you fuckers will post comments here. If you haven't received an invitation yet, don't worry you'll get yours soon enough.

The waiting drove me mad!

The waiting until I get off of work anyways. More to come once I get my shit together. Peace.
