RIP Dimebag Darrell
I just found out that the guitarist from Pantera, Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed while playing a show in Columbus, OH. Read more here:

This really sucks. I'm not a huge Pantera fan, but I loved their first few albums. Dimebag was the ultimate heavy metal guitarist. He will be missed. My thoughts go out to the family, friends, and the hardcore fans.

Now that I've had a chance to read all the news reports and other peoples comments on various music forums; this is really, really terrible. It makes me so sad and so angry.
Concerts are a place to enjoy music, people coming together and having a good time. Now if I want to go to a "heavier than normal" concert, I'll be worrying about "where's the crazy fucker with a bowie knife or a gun". I've been to two Super Joint Ritual concerts, but the only thing I was watching out for was the mosh pit and crowd surfers, and I'm totally cool with that. It's just fucking wrong to have to worry about being shot at a concert, especially if you're the one making the music.
Speaking of Super Joint Ritual, I wonder what Phil Anselmo has to say about this? It seems that him and Dimebag kinda spilt on bad terms. I'm sure he'll put aside his "badass" persona and remember what a great person and guitarist Dimebag was.
