I'm Working for the Weekend.

I think the title says it all. Work has been hell ever since Hurricane Katrina hit. Things aren't getting any better here on 3rd shift either. People are getting into corporate pissing matches and no one is benefiting from it. It's causing a few people I work with to look for other jobs (including me). God, I hope there is something out there with a normal 8-5 work week. 3rd shift has been absolutely killing me. Sorry for all the work rants, but it seems that is what my life has become. One big long work rant. Either way, I'm just not happy here.

I can't wait for the nice weather this weekend. That's all I ever look forward to anymore, my days off. I might even try to play some golf. I'd like to play guitar too, but I've been in a slump of sorts recently. Maybe, just maybe, if I get lucky in changing jobs; the slump will soon end.

Working...

Not really working, more like playing. Me and Jerome went Garageband crazy this past Saturday. After a boring wedding and a lot of alcohol, we decided to come up with an improvisational jazz trilogy based on the trials and tribulations of Gus Walker. Who is Gus Walker you ask? You'll find out soon enough. This is a screenshot of the last installment of the trilogy "Magnolia St. is where I don't wanna be." Actually, it's just a bunch of different "well placed" effects that made pretty trippy songs. Seriously, I could lock myself away for days messing with this.

I would also like to apologize to Maslow for being intoxicated and not realizing I was messing around with the wrong blog.

Livingroomband

I've been learning how to use Garageband. I've also been learning that I can't sing. Of course I've known this but this time I have recorded proof. Oh well.

All of the effects that you can add to your voice, instrument, etc. sound surprisingly good. There are also TONS of options with the effects. For example, if you choose to record a guitar real instrument track, you can add amp simulation. Take your pick of American Clean to British Crunch, just to name a couple. You can also add "pedal" effects, choose from overdrive to chorus. Like I said before, tons of options that sound good. The USB interface I have
  • (Tascam US-122)
  • also has inputs for electric guitars, which will come in handy I'm sure. There's still a lot I've got to figure out (editing, loops, etc.), but it's gonna be really fun.

    R.I.P. Milo

I awoke to the very sad news this morning that the newest member of the Merrill Flop House "Milo" had been ran over by a car and killed. Gary tried to rush him to the vet, but he died on the way. He only had him for 3 weeks.

It's gonna be sad around here for a while. I know that Gary will miss him the most, as will I.

    Here it is!

Now Gomez and Jerome want one.

I still haven't had a real chance to mess with garageband, udates will follow on that.

Just got back from Savannah, Ga. I have to say I like Charleston better. It's not that Savannah is bad, I prefer the downtown area to Charleston a lot better. I did have a beer called "Swamp Fox India Pale Ale" at the Moon River Brewing Company. That shit was STRONG. I was buzzed hard after 2 pints. Tybee Island and Fort Pulaski were cool. I'm in the process of putting those photos on Flickr. I'll post a link to my flickr photos in the links section.

    Work in Progress

    Alright, just for the record...

Apple products fucking rock, they fucking rock hard.

I'm currently under going the process of getting all my cd's on my ipod. This is going to take a very long, long time. Luckily, I have this coming week off and will get everything up to date. More updates to come. Thanks for the info Moo.

Oh yeah, this is the first post I'm not getting paid for.
